The job

A long drive between the lawns had broken up and lost its edges. They wanted it taken right back to a proper base and re-laid — not patched over one more time.

What we did

We dug the drive out to formation and carted the old material away, then rebuilt and compacted the sub-base. Timber edging and a drainage channel went in to hold the shape and take the water off, then we hot-laid the tarmac and rolled it in sections the full length of the drive.

The result

A smooth, well-drained tarmac drive with clean edges, running straight from the road up to the house — a world away from the broken surface it replaced.
